Dear Friends,

We wanted to take a moment to send out a letter updating you on all of the exciting developments that are occurring here at TMI. It is our way of expressing our sincere and heartfelt thanks to all of the members of the TMI community for contributing to another wonderful year.

We are in a magical era in the life of TMI. That magic is made possible only because of the tremendous support we receive from our graduates, Board of Directors, Advisory Board, sustaining and professional members, donors, and well wishers. While it is impossible to note everything that is happening at TMI, we wanted to mention just a few:

Perhaps most exciting, is the manner in which the right people are appearing with exactly the right skill, passion and enthusiasm to meet our emerging needs. We’ve been able to hire four new office staff members, each of whom are making exceptional contributions: Karin Malik, as Director of Development; Carol Sabick, as Director of Outreach; Katie Hughes, as office support staff; and Amelia Walton, as our Community Development Director. Michele Gibson and Toyer Fitch have been added to our housekeeping staff as well. We are seeing a team develop that is rich with creativity and cohesive in love, joy and support.

Peter Agelasto and Sara Pope with BlueWall, LLC have been doing a wonderful job assembling our new web presence that will be rolled out in early January. This will put us in the forefront of internet capability and give us new capacity for social networking, research aggregation and dissemination, RSS feeds, program delivery, blogs, bulletin boards, videos, interviews, a new store format and much more.
Our media coverage has been expanding rapidly with many initiatives coming soon:

  • Martin Taylor, a documentary filmmaker from Australia, has created an extraordinary promotional film to lay the groundwork for a full-scale documentary series on TMI.
  • Crown Point Productions has produced a 3-minute TMI infomercial for Her Domain TV (on the Oxygen Network) which will air on December 30th and for the first three weeks in January.
  • Path 11 Productions has produced The Path Series Documentaries featuring interviews with TMI personnel which is due for release within the next thirty to sixty days.
  • Joyce Anastasia of Creative Productions is producing a documentary about Remote Viewing featuring lectures, participant interviews, and interior and exterior shots of TMI, possibly due for Internet release in 2009.
  • Both local and national papers are doing articles on TMI.
  • In addition, I have been able to travel to meetings with graduates in 32 different cities to gather input on our vision and to gauge enthusiasm for developing local chapters of TMI. We have also brought back our Outreach Program and to date have graduated 24 new Outreach Facilitators who will be certified to give 2 day workshops around the globe.

In 2008, we have been able to make substantial upgrades in our physical plant: new roofs, new mattresses, an emergency electrical generator, new windows, remodeled bathrooms and conference room in David Francis Hall, new flooring and carpeting in the Nancy Penn Center, a rebuilt spillway and path to Lake Miranon, the purchase of an additional 56 acres of land from the Monroe Family Trust, exterior painting, 3 new offices and one remodeled office in the lab, remodeled booth area, and new HVAC units in several key areas.

In August of this year we hosted a gathering of our residential facilitators where we discussed the future of TMI. The forethought and support that was felt by all in attendance gave us enormous inspiration for the future.
We also want to give thanks for all that has come before, especially:

  • Bob and Nancy’s legacy of creativity and curiosity as pioneers in the field consciousness,
  • Nancy McMoneagle’s tenure as Executive Director, which was so instrumental in guiding TMI into a period of new expansion and outreach,
  • Laurie’s years of dedicated service, which brought TMI through the difficult transition after Bob’s death and paved the way for the new growth we are now experiencing,
  • Skip Atwater’s immeasurable contributions as both President and Treasurer that have put us on a firm financial footing even in the midst of this economic recession.
  • We are also grateful, for the enormous help we receive continually from nonphysical forces. It has become abundantly clear over the years that TMI has been the beneficiary of exceptional guidance, protection, assistance, and motivation from the unseen world.

But most of all we give thanks for the many lives that have been affected so profoundly by this work. The extent of that impact was brought home to us in Cam Danielson’s research project, “The Benefits of Long Term Participation in The Monroe Institute Programs.” In surveying over 700 TMI graduates, this study showed that we have been developing a constituency that is pushing the bounds of late stage human development. For over 30 years, we have been creating a group of people with exceptional wisdom, joy, compassion and expertise. The next step in our mission may be to find ways of bring this group together to facilitate change that is societal or even global in scope. I invite you see this report on our website if you haven’t already.

We would also like to give thanks for the many people who have volunteered their help in various projects: those giving feedback on our internet changes, those helping with local chapter leadership, those contributing articles, professional members, those who have given financially, those who have contributed good intentions and those who have offered inspiration, support and kind words. You have helped more than you can ever know.

This much I know, the Institute is a place where grace lives in abundance. Thanks you for your support and passion for the work of TMI. Because of you, not only does our future hold immense promise, but our present is a gift indeed.

With hope and joy for the years ahead,

Paul Rademacher
Executive Director

  1. The new website looks fabulous and has rich searchability. I look forward to “drilling” into the web site for more details about MI

  2. If you can’t say anything nice… But I find your new change too dark, busy and complex. While I like the colors I find them too dark to easily read and the presentation is cluttered, busy too much info. A bit like trying to read without enough light. I wish I could love the changes maybe it will grow on me. This does not affect my love for all that you do!
