I grew up in the suburbs of Sydney New South Wales, Australia  and moved to Queensland, Australia in 1983.   -  During the 1980s, a thought came to me, “If  being born, living 70 to 90 odd years and then dying was all there was, life would be pointless”.  -  Life to me was too intricate and the world around me was too amazing to be pointless, so I knew there had to be something else that I was not aware of.  - That point in time was where I started my conscious journey of “self discovery”. A journey that has been amazing, confronting & filled with awe.

In the year 2000, my journey lead me to The Monroe Institute where I attended the Gateway Voyage program, which was life changing for me. I quickly returned to TMI for Guidelines in 2001 and my journey of Self Exploration/Discovery accelerated and intensified.

As the years progressed I continued to enjoy other programs at The Monroe Institute, MC2, Lifeline, Exploration 27 & Exploration Essence, each one adding to my expanding awareness.
I am now semi-retired after working for a company that owned and operated hotels/taverns in Queensland as their Administrator/Financial Controller for the last 20 odd years.

Having more freedom now, it seemed the right time to bring into reality a vision I had between Gateway and Guidelines of bringing The Monroe Institute programs to Australia. Together with my business partner Irene Blanck, we accomplished that dream and introduced The Gateway Voyage program to Australians in Australia during March 2011.

I became involved with the TMI Local Chapter Network as their Regional Coordinator in the Australian region and in late 2011 was asked to join their leadership council.

We now offer the three tiers to TMI in Australia.
1. Local Chapters of the TMI Local Chapter Network.
2. TMI 2 day Excursion Workshops.
3. TMI 6 day Residential Programs.

“How the mind works and what consciousness is has intrigued me since I could think - which is many decades ago. Near death experiences (NDE) was the first subject which caught my attention at the tender age of 12. Since then I have read and studied every book that came out about NDEs. When I investigated extra sensorial perception like telepathy, telekinesis, bi-locations etc I deeply wished that I could earn my living with these mind exploring subjects. That was in my early 20ies.

Then I married, got children and earned my living since in the marketing section of the tourist industry. A few years ago I picked up on Out Of Body experiences and realized how closely this was related to NDEs. Obviously, for me to experience an NDE I would have to be near death, and that I really did not want to wait for. After finding Robert Monroe’s books and the Monroe Institute I knew a new path had opened for me.

The Monroe Institute offered a tool which could help me practically expand what I had learned theoretically over many years.  I have participated in the Monroe Institute residential courses Gateway Voyage, Lifeline and FTP program as well as participated and held various Weekend Excursions.

I became an official Outreach Facilitator in 2010.

Based in Gran Canaria, I mainly hold weekend workshops in Gran Canaria, Spain. But I am also available to travel to Austria as my family’s base is there and to anywhere else in Europe. I hold workshops in English, German and Spanish.”

Wie der Geist und das Gehirn funktioniert hat mich im zarten Alter von 12 Jahren gefesselt, als ich das erste Mal ein Buch über Nah-Tod-Erlebnisse las – kurz NTE. Seither habe ich jedes Buch das über NTEs herauskam verschlungen und studiert. Später befaßte ich mich paranormalen Phänomenen wie Telepathie, Telekinese, Bi-Lokation u.a. und wünschte mir vom ganzen Herzen, dass ich meinen Lebensunterhalt mit der Investigation der Bewusstseinserweiterung verdienen könnte. Das geschah in meinen frühen 20ern.

Dann heiratete ich und bekam Kinder und verdiene seither meinen Lebensunterhalt in der Marketingabteilung der Tourismusbranche. Vor einigen Jahren entdeckte ich die Außer-Körperlichen-Erfahrungen (AKE) und bemerkte wie ähnlich sich Außerkörpererfahrungen und Nahtoderlebnisse waren. Um ein Nahtoderlebnis zu erfahren müsste ich schon nahe des körperlichen Todes sein – und so lange wollte ich nicht warten. Nachdem ich die Bücher von Robert Monroe und das Monroe Institut fand, wusste ich, dass sich ein neuer Lebensweg vor mir aufgetan hatte.

Das Monroe Institut gab mir ein Werkzeug (oder eigentlich mehrere), welches mir praktisch das anbot was ich über viele Jahre theoretisch studiert hatte. Dieses Werkzeug will ich nun auch anderen zur Verfügung stellen.

After university studies in marketing and management, I have been advertising executive and later on marketing executive among different French and American companies for nearly thirty years. At the end of the 90’s, I restarted studies to get a master in multimedia and internet and I became, in 2000, trainer and consultant in new technologies.

At the same time, I have been following a way of personal growth and I learned meditation and yoga, I learned how to understand my emotional process with a method called “The Logic of Emotions” which was created by a well-known psycho-therapist named Catherine Aimelet-Perissol.

In 2005, I entered the Institute of Emotional Logic, created by Catherine Aimelet-Perissol and Sylvie Alexandre to become a psycho-practitioner. Since 2007, I am practicing in my office and outside in various companies. I set up several workshops with my partner Amelie Motte , such as :
-Emotional Education, for the parents and the teachers who want to do their best facing the children’s emotions,
-Coaching and Emotions, for the coaches who want to help their clients with much efficiency
-Emotional Intelligence and Management, for the managers who want to manage more ecologically and more efficiency. This workshop is proposed by Sciences Po Paris.

In 2011, I got my certification to teach Adi Vajra Shakti Yoga, a new course of Yoga founded by Dominique Lussan (Harmonic Vision founder and Resident Trainer of Monroe Institute in Europe).

Après une formation universitaire en marketing et gestion des entreprises, j’ai été responsable de projets de communication publicitaire puis responsable marketing pendant près de 30 ans. J’ai ensuite refait une année d’études pour passer un master en multimédia et je suis devenue, dès l’an 2000, formatrice et conseil en nouvelles technologies.

Parallèlement, j’ai commencé un parcours en développement personnel qui m’a permis d’apprendre la méditation et le yoga et de mieux comprendre mes processus émotionnels en découvrant la Logique Emotionnelle ®, démarche de décodage des émotions créée par la psychothérapeute Catherine Aimelet-Périssol.

En 2005, j’ai suivi la formation de psycho-praticienne à l’Institut de Logique Emotionnelle, fondé par Catherine Aimelet-Périssol et Sylvie Alexandre. Et j’exerce depuis 2007 en cabinet et en entreprise. Je reçois en entretiens individuels les personnes dépassées par leurs émotions, stressées ou agressives, et je leur apprends à décoder leurs émotions pour les utiliser comme levier de mieux-être. J’ai aussi créé plusieurs stages de formation,  en partenariat avec Amélie Motte, psycho-praticienne:
-L’Education Emotionnelle®, une formation destinée aux parents et aux enseignants pour mieux accompagner les enfants dans leurs émotions et donner une nouvelle dimension à l’éducation.
-Coaching et Emotions, une formation pour les coachs qui leur permet de mieux comprendre les  systèmes de défense de leurs clients et de mieux les accompagner dans leurs objectifs
-Intelligence Emotionnelle et Management, une formation pour les managers qui leur permet de se conduire de manière plus écologique et de gagner en efficacité relationnelle.

En 2011, j’ai obtenu la certification Harmonic Vision pour enseigner une nouvelle approche du yoga baptisée Adi Vajra Shakti Yoga enseigné par Dominique Lussan.

Et en 2012, je suis devenue facilitatrice Monroe et animatrice du stage Découverte, suite logique dans mon cheminement personnel et mon désir de transmettre.

Barbara, British born and a resident of Cyprus, is situated in the Eastern Mediterranean, since 1994. She holds an MA Ed in Inclusive Education/Special Needs, and been enthusiastically engaged  in the study and research of human potential for many years. This interest has been driven by a series of Near Death Experiences (NDE) and the life changing shifts these evoked. Barbara’s physical recovery from the NDE related accidents,  led  to her training as a Feldenkrais Practitioner and Sound Therapist working with VoiceBio, Crystal Singing Bowls and Hemi-Sync. With a desire to reach deeper and explore further, Barbara was drawn to the Monroe Institute in September 2001. Seit meinem 13 Lebensjahr beschäftige ich mich mit der grauen Masse zwischen unseren Ohren und wie wir sie besser nutzen können. Dies führte mich über effektive Lern- und Memorierungstechniken zur Meditation, Hypnose und veränderten Zuständen des Bewusstseins. Dazu gehören natürlich (luzide) Träume, ausserkörperliche Erfahrungen OBEs und verschiedenste Trance-Zustände. Mir ist dabei wichtig, diese Zustände ohne Hilfsmittel zu erreichen oder wieder zu erreichen, weil dies zu unseren angeborenen Fähigkeiten gehört.

Meinen ersten Kontakt zu Bob Monroes Büchern und Hemi-Sync hatte ich im Jahre 1996. Nach diversen eigenen Versuchen mit den Bändern und CDs habe ich mich dann entschlossen, die Seminare am Monroe Institut zu besuchen. Mittlerweile habe ich über 10 Seminare am Monroe Institut belegt.

In diesen Seminaren habe ich Hemi-Sync als etwas sehr wertvolles kennen gelernt. Hemi-Sync bringt in meiner Erfahrung immer etwas in Bewegung. Und diese Bewegung dient dem persönlichem inneren Wachstum. Aus diesem Grunde entschloss ich mich, Hemi-Sync auch in Deutschland als Trainer anzubieten.

Durch meine Ausbildungen in den Bereichen Hypnotherapie, lösungsfokussiertes systemisches Kurzzeitcoaching und NLP absolviert und bin auch NLP-Trainer und Coach sowie Heilpraktiker für Psychotherapie. I was born in Verona – Italy, the “Romeo & Giulietta’s” city on 1963. When I was 14 I had a strong purpose to meet beings from other part of the universe and on that time I have probably my first OBE experience or something that now I classified as it. In that period my life start to became more exciting: High school, friends and girlfriends, love, interesting things to thought, discuss and to do. I discovered life on the Earth! And, I did have less time to spend on life outside earth. I started my professional career in 1986 as software engineer in computer programming and was great! A lot of creative energy to invent something new. Apart my job I started reading Carlos Castaneda, Charles Tart and Aldous Huxley and I follow a “four way school” that belongs to G. Gourdijeff and P. Ouspensky teaching.

On 1994 I create my software house company and start to take more responsability of my life; I became a father and buy my house (start to paying it!). On 2002 the information technologies experience ended for me and I decided to follow a new opportunity and to join a start-up company devoted on health care training program. My personal development pass through the interest on Chinese Medicine, Shiatsu, Shamanism and Neuro Languages Programming (NLP). I followed different courses and professional accreditation (Master Practitioner in NLP, Shiatsu Massage Therapist). On 2007 I meet TMI and did my first programs. Gatweay Voyage and then other TMI course did change my life in a more deeply way than before. I decide to follow the Facilitator Program as new opportunity for me to grow, as a human being and professionally. Now as an Accredited Outreach Facilitator my efforts are dedicated to bring in Italy the TMI experiences and its programs.

In all of my previous job experiences I had the opportunity to learn a lot, grow professionally and, have fun! What I’m always searching in my life and job are exploration of human potential (starting from myself), applying creativity and trying to put my talents into real life. Now I know, because I experiment, than I’m more than my phisical body and that there are way to be more happy in life, more usefull to others and… meet other beings in the Universe. Psychologist, psychotherapist, member of the Romanian Institute for Integrative Psychotherapy

I've always been interested in the deep inner being, the higher self, of who we really are and how we can establish a better connection with this part of us.

I think that curiosity led me to become a psychologist and later psychotherapist in integrative psychotherapy.  From my point of view, all psychological problems are related, on a very deep level, with losing the connection with our soul, our Higher Self and Universe. The more we are in touch with our inner world, the more we will be able to heal our self.

Many years ago I discovered the works of C.G. Jung. He was my first “mentor” who gave me a sense of existence, an awakening to the cosmic dimension of us. It was beautiful and profoundly healthful but I am still missing the experience.

A few years ago I found “The Gateway Experience” and other Hemi Sync CD’s. I was overwhelmed. That experience changed my life. Step by step Hemi Sync offered me new insights about us and our human journey. It made me able to realize a strong connection with my Inner Self. Finally, I found what I was looking for. The question “Am I more than my physical body?” is not a question anymore. Now, I know it for sure!

So, I became a facilitator because my desire is to share with other people the gift of what Robert Monroe, through Hemi-Sync, gave me: i.e. the miracle of experiencing that beyond our physical body we are beings of light, love and joy.

Richard Tilson is an Outreach Facilitator, a businessman and farmer living near Moose Jaw, SK, Canada. He has been putting on these workshops in this area since 2000. Richard first attended the Monroe Institute in 1997 and have tried to go there about once a year ever since, as a special gift to myself.

Richard usually puts on workshops near Moose Jaw either in my home for small groups or at the Wood Acres residential retreat in Moose Jaw for larger groups. I have also traveled to put on workshops in nearby Cities and Provinces.

Hi, my name is Phil Davidson and I worked within an Information Technology (IT) environment for 25 years, with a career as a senior exec that spanned the globe from the UK to Asia Pacific, including Hong Kong. It was whilst working in Hong Kong that I was introduced to the more esoteric aspects of life. This involved meditation, especially deep meditative states.

At this time I became interested in the mind, OBE states and Lucid dreaming, since Hong Kong has a deep and varied history of Buddhist meditation, its practice and utilisation.

After a long career in IT, I decided to take a different path; I changed career and went into full time education studying a subject that I was interested in, Psychology. I obtained a BSc in Psychology however, even after finishing my degree there were still a number of questions unanswered.

It was during my undergraduate years that I decided to finally make the trip to Monroe Institute. It was whilst I was undergoing Gateway that I decided that this was the type of work that I would be most suited for.

Accordingly, I decided to continue my research into different aspects of mind and undertook PhD research into the utilisation of mind that could be cultivated using deep meditation, especially those states that facilitate OBE state.

I finished my PhD in September, 2009. At the same time, I finished an Analytical Hypnotherapy diploma and Psychotherapy diploma so it was quite a busy period in my life!

I decided that it would be good to incorporate what I had learned in my PhD research, coupled with Bob Monroe’s approach, to provide the perfect combination in helping people on the path to personal development.

This involves all aspects from people just starting meditation to those that are well on the path.

Currently I work with my friend, Luigi Sciambarella, providing Outreach courses in the UK, although we do offer a number of varied personal development courses.

Paquita Marsal nacida en Cataluña el 18 de abril de 1952.

Ejerció su profesión como profesora de Educación Infantil durante 25 años en un colegio de Barcelona. En el año 2000, a raíz de la pérdida de su hijo en un accidente de tráfico, trasladó su lugar de residencia a Madrid y fue en esa ciudad donde tuvo su primer contacto con Hemi-Sync de la mano de Carol Sabick. Realizó varios talleres, lo que para ella supuso una gran ayuda en un momento tan crucial en su vida. En ellos pudo constatar aquello que Robert Monroe afirmó en su momento de que la muerte, como tal, no existe.

En el año 2003 se forma como facilitadora para grupos de autoayuda y acompañamiento en el duelo, en la Asociación Alaia, desempeñando ese papel en distintos grupos de padres que han sufrido la pérdida de un hijo: en Alcalá de Henares (Madrid), en la Fundación “Acompanya Ca n’Eva” dentro del Hospital de Sant Pau de Barcelona, en Tortosa (Tarragona). En la actualidad está trabajando en el proyecto de la apertura de un nuevo grupo en Riba-roja d’Ebre (Tarragona), su lugar de nacimiento.

En el año 2005 se inicia como maestra de Reiki.

Es a mediados del año 2008, y viendo la gran ayuda que supone a todos los niveles este sistema tecnológico, cuando decide formarse como Facilitadora de Hemi- Sync, nuevamente de la mano de Carol Sabick.

En la actualidad está dedicada a impartir cursos de fin de semana, de Reiki y Hemi-Sync, en distintos lugares de España.

Empecé mi andadura con Hemi-Sync® a mediados del 2004 en los talleres de fin de semana que impartía Carol Sabick en Catalunya. Gracias a Hemi-Sync® encontré aquello que buscaba, tener mis propias constataciones de que "somos más que nuestro cuerpo físico". Nora Elisa Rosen is an Outreach Facilitator in Argentina. She is a Trainer of Hypnotherapists (Richard Hart’s School of Hypnosis. N.Y.) and Director of Creacción: Personal Development Center.

I have been interested in the mind and consciousness exploration from an early age.  My early experiences consisted mainly of very vivid dreams and (what I now know are) Lucid dreams. Whilst this was new and exciting to me, I came to understand that there seemed to be more to life than just the actual experiences we had whilst awake.

As I progressed through school and University, I became more interested in these differing aspects of experience and mind. I took a BSc in Psychology to get some answers but this just threw up more questions.

It was whilst at University that I met Phil Davidson (fellow Outreach facilitator) and we collaborated on a number of mind expanding experiments using enhanced visualisation techniques. It was at this time that I became very experienced in OBE and Lucid dreaming practice and techniques resulting in many OBE experiences, lucid dreams and other types of experience provided by the mind.

At this time I was introduced to Bob Monroe’s research and I was very interested in pursuing it further since his experiences were very much like my own.

After a very successful visit to TMI, we decided that it would be great to share these experiences with like-minded individuals. After Monroe, I decided that my path was set – help as many people as possible to experience more of their total selves, whilst at the same time enjoying this great opportunity for personal growth.

Ioulia Pitsouli is a journalist, writer and an integrative  approach counsellor.

As a journalist,  she has worked for major Greek Publications ( and also Elle, Marie Claire- Greek edition) as well as newspapers, and for many years she hosted her own talk shows on Television and Radio. Her articles are published monthly in the Greek edition of Votre Beaute magazine.

She has written 6 books: "The Secret Odyssey", "Eros and Psyche", "Valley of Roses 4000 a.C", "The 7th Gate", "Greek Gods of Egypt" and "Hercules, the Hero Within Us".

Since 1997  she facilitates group meetings and seminars related to self- awareness and inspired by Greek Mythology and Philosophy and A Course in Miracles.

I started my "exploration" after nursing my husband through a terminal illness. I realised then that there was more to me than this physical body and started reading as much as I could. This eventually led me to The Monroe Institute. I have since done Gateway, Guidelines, Lifeline, Exploration Essence, Heartlines and MC2. My life changed so dramatically after attending The Monroe Institute and I wanted to share what I had learnt. I decided to train as a facilitator and am now an accredited Outreach Facilitator. This enables me to conduct weekend Excursion Workshops where participants can explore Focus 10 and 12. I hold workshops anywhere in Australia.

I am also a hospice volunteer and have been greatly helped in this work by my experiences nursing my husband and by attending Lifeline at TMI. As well, I volunteer at a local hospital where I offer reiki to dialysis patients.

A Near Death Experience at age 15 when I almost died during surgery due to an overdose of anesthesia brought me early on to the search for answers to the Big Questions: Who am I?  Where do I come from?  What is my purpose in life?  And what will happen when I’ll die?

At that age I always had wanted to become a scientist so naturally I looked for answers in studying physics, using my free time to study Planck’s Quantum Mechanics theories and Einstein’s theories of Relativism. Soon my studies led me to Metaphysics, different religions and to mostly Eastern Philosophy. Still none of the books I read could give me more than a theoretical understanding how our mind works and how I could think of myself as a self-responsible union of Body, Mind and Spirit.

In 1990 I decided to leave Germany in order to take part in the development of a hotel in Manuel Antonio/Costa Rica. After the construction was complete I stayed on as a General Manager until Dec. 2000. In my time in Costa Rica I worked as a volunteer in Human Rights projects and Environmental Conservation projects which resulted in death threats and even an attempt on my life. It was in 1995 that my life has become so stressful and intense that I searched for a way to relieve the stress, find again my inner peace and re-direct my focus to my spiritual path. I had tried many different approaches to achieve deep meditative states like ZEN or Transcendental Meditation among others. None of them did work for me. My mind was to busy and I was unable to let go of the stress and the thought wheel in my head.

At that time I “stumbled” over a book mentioning the Monroe Institute and describing the Hemi-Sync® Process. I ordered the first Waves of the Gateway Experience and was amazed and happy to have finally found a way to let go of stress and being able to reach easily and effectively a deep state of meditation.

I signed up for the Gateway Voyage which indeed opened a gateway to my own understanding of my self. I attended in the following years all at the time available “on-campus” programs which finally allowed me to find my own answers on my own path and questions. It became clear to me that the work I wanted to do is bringing Hemi-Sync® to the attention of more people and signed up for the Facilitator Training Program (FTP) and became a fully accredited Outreach Facilitator by Jan. 2000.

After my time in Costa Rica I lived 4 years on the Big Island of Hawai’i studying Hawaiian language & culture, eastern philosophy and cultural anthropology at UHH while planning to build a center for healing and meditation. Unfortunately this project never manifested and after a dramatic break-up of my relationship I had to return with two suitcases to Berlin / Germany.

Over the last years I worked on a concept how I could create more interest for Mind Training and Awareness Training in Germany besides promoting and facilitating the Excursion Workshops, including also my experiences and trainings in traditions like for example the Hawaiian Culture.

Currently I am the only fully accredited and licensed Outreach Facilitator for TMI in the greater Berlin area. Under the name Miranon™ I am offering the official Gateway Excursion Workshops, Metamusic® Group Sessions, workshops developed out of Hemi-Sync© home series and 1-on-1 Life Coaching sessions with Hemi-Sync support.

Felipe was born in Spain, has a degree on Economics (88) anMBA(92), and Master in Psychology (99). He works as a business consultant and as coach, helping organizations and people to develop and bring their best.

He has been in contact with the Monroe Institute since 1994. He graduated as an Outreach Trainer in 1997. Felipe uses Hemi-Sync technology in the business context to train people in stress management; more focused, productive and creative decision process and teaches meditation for managers and the general public.  He uses Hemi-sync as well to help people to overcome limiting emotions and believes in different contexts, and particularly in the fire-walking experience. He runs his own center “Numen” where he teaches the Outreach courses and works with a group of professional psychologists.

Along a conversation with Laurie Monroe back in 2000, he shared his passion for the Lifeline program (it was his second time) and how much value could bring to the Spanish speaking world,  it was then we both agreed that Felipe would give voice to the Going Home series as well as other Hemi-Sync Cd´s in Spanish.

Enrique works as Senior Telecommunications Engineer and he is graduated in many of the Monroe Institute residential programs in recent years. He combines his professional career with his passion for helping others to improve their lives through the use of Hemi-Sync technology at workshops.

He also lectures regularly as an expert on Out of Body Experience or Astral Travel, both in theory and in practice, something he has devoted his entire life.

Edward Visse  is located in Lund & Ystad in the south of Sweden. After a spontaneous out-of-body experience he turned from biologist (and pure materialist) into a spiritual explorer. Carl Österberg lives in Växjö in the south of Sweden and holds a M Sc in Biomedical Engineering, Technical Physics and Electronics Engineering. During some 20 years of work in the constantly changing but nevertheless rigid world of product development in various businesses, half the time as a manager, he came to the realization that the true joy of life lies in developing humans, not things. At a mind-sweeping emotional-roller coaster-week of ”Meeting Your Self” at the Mullingstorp Health and Education Centre, The Institute for Advanced Self-Knowledge in Sweden, his own journey in search for deeper inner knowledge commenced. Since the end of my high school years in the late seventies, I have been looking for that “more” which is more than the physical world. As there was not such a wide variety from which to choose at that time, I first practiced Kung Fu and Tai Chi and studied Chinese in order to understand the Chinese philosophy and culture more deeply. I went to live in Asia for three years and then gave Tai Chi classes in Germany during the nineties. For a deeper meditation I also had a daily practice of Kriya Yoga. At the end of the nineties I bought my first Hemi-Sync CDs and found this method of consciousness exploration much clearer, easier, more joyful and exciting, as it was practiced without the requirements of traditional institutions.

Now I offer weekend courses with an introduction into this method (Excursion Workshops), which can be done in German since the Hemi-Sync CDs have been published in German at the end of 2007.

Beltrán Melgar was born in 1953.  He is married and has 5 children.  He is a Sound & Computer Hardware Technician, Reiki Master, Visionary Artist and was raised in a family of eight brothers by a bilingual mother (Spanish-English) in a predominantly monolingual environment (Spanish) in Madrid, Spain.

Since then he has been continuously discovering, through direct experience, that many skills we apparently learn in our life (language, healing, levels of consciousness) are, in fact, genetic codes that may be awakened during our personal evolution.

It is his main interest to facilitate others  to find their own path of growth, insight and wisdom. To develop creativity, sleep better, focus their mind and realize their goals, aligning emotions with thoughts and actions.

Beth has always been fascinated by the mysteries of the human mind and spirit. The capabilities displayed by many individuals who have healed themselves in miraculous ways gives her constant encouragement to study and continue to learn what innate powers we might all have. The skills and techniques which some individuals have used to facilitate their own amazing or seemingly “miraculous healings” can be adapted to our own life. The concepts these individuals use to experience their own miracles in life may become the answer to your own questions about life.

Beth is constantly amazed and inspired by the capacity for love which is demonstrated though the many daily acts of heroism and courage displayed by “normal/everyday” individuals. Beth has been spent lots of time studying in an attempt to come to an understanding of what consciousness is. After reading the book by Richard Bach “Johnathan Livingston Seagull” in Grade 7, Beth began reading nearly everything that crossed her path in a journey to discover this new vista of Consciousness exploration. In her latest journey along this path, she has most recently studied at The Monroe Institute  to become an Outreach Facilitator and has recently been appointed a Regional Coordinator the Monroe Institute’s Local Chapter program. The Monroe Institute’s research into the relationship between sound, brain wave activity and expanded states of awareness is at the very forefront of neuro-science today.

Beth worked for twelve years in the accounting field for various oil and gas companies and then worked for a major bank for 10 years while also raising two children and running three successful companies with her Husband of 30 years. Since 2001 Beth has had the ability to spend the majority of her time studying and taking classes in a quest to solve some of her own issues and concerns. After being asked by friends and family numerous times to assist them with some of their issues, she took her Life Coaching Certification and began to see clients in 2007.

In addition to teaching workshops, Beth Haley has a private counseling practice. Beth is a Certified Life Enhancement Coach, PSYCH-K Facilitator and an Outreach Facilitator for The Monroe Institute. Beth shares self-hypnosis, meditation and Neuro Linguistic Programming techniques with her clients. She has been studying and exploring the metaphysical field for thirty six years. Over the years, she has spent time with many teachers and has learned that we all have capabilities and gifts which are as individual as we are. We all have access to intuitive processes which we can each use to creatively resolve conflicts and limitations in our lives. I was born in La Rioja, and I live in Bilbao, in the north of Spain.

Since childhood, I could find myself asking questions like: Is this all there is?  What am I doing here?

I was longing for something I could not explain, as if I had lost the thread that connected me to somewhere very far away, to a “place” I was missing so much…

I was missing something important and I did not know what it was.

As time went by, I realized that this something had to do with the dimension of the soul, with the most essential; paradoxically, it was something nobody ever talked about: the real meaning of existence, the spiritual dimension of being.  So I began a tireless quest, that continues to this day.  In this quest there have been both darkness and discoveries.

Throughout the years, there has been something that accompanied me and helped me more than any other thing to connect to the deepest part of my being: music and dance.  Immersion in music, singing and dancing are my meditation.

In the year 2006, I broke down after the suicide of the one I loved.  I felt I would never get over it.

It was at that time of bereavement when I came to know Hemi-Sync.  The work with Hemi-Sync technology, together with some other helping tools, like Holotropic Breathwork, and the desperate wish of being reborn in this very life, led me to a series of experiences of deep and liberating openness and perception.

That is why I decided to train to become a TMI Outreach facilitator.  I am also training in Holotropic Breathwork.  I see that both Hemi-Sync technology and Energetic Breathwork are powerful tools for healing and transformation at a very deep level, and I want to help to expand this work, through individual consultation and through Excursion Workshops in Bilbao and other cities in Spain or Europe.

I can lead the Excursion Workshop in Spanish, English and French.

I am a physician.   I finished my studies in Medicine from Basque Country University in the year 2000.  I have been trained in Anthroposophic Medicine, Orthomolecular Nutrition, Massage, Polarity Therapy, Rebirthing (Energetic Breathwork) and several regression and guided introspection techniques.  I am also a Trance Dance presenter.

I have a private practice in Bilbao, together with some other physicians and therapists.

Desde niña, sentí una nostalgia de algo que no sabía explicarme, como si hubiera perdido el hilo que me unía a algún lugar muy lejano, un “lugar” que echaba tanto de menos… Me estaba perdiendo algo importante y no sabía qué era.

Con el paso del tiempo me fui dando cuenta de que ese algo tenía que ver con la dimensión del alma, con lo más esencial; paradójicamente, era algo de lo que nadie hablaba nunca: el sentido real de nuestra existencia, la dimensión espiritual del ser. Empecé una búsqueda incansable, que aún continúa.

Ha habido etapas de descubrimiento y etapas de gran oscuridad.

A lo largo de los años, ha habido algo que me ha acompañado y me ha ayudado como ninguna otra cosa a tirar el hilo que me une a la parte más profunda de mi ser: la música y la danza. La inmersión en la música, el canto y la danza son mi meditación.

En el año 2006, a raíz del suicidio de mi pareja, entré en una profunda crisis de la que nunca creí que pudiera salir.

En esa época de duelo fue cuando tomé contacto con Hemi-Sync. El trabajo con la tecnología Hemi-Sync, junto con otras ayudas como la Respiración Holotrópica, y el desesperado deseo de renacer dentro de esta misma vida, me llevaron a una serie de experiencias de percepción y apertura profundas y liberadoras.

Esta es la razón de que haya decidido formarme como facilitadora outreach del Insituto Monroe. Actualmente estoy también en formación en Respiración Holotrópica. Veo que, tanto la respiración energética como la tecnología Hemi-Sync, son poderosas herramientas para la curación y transformación a niveles profundos, y quiero ayudar a expandirlas, a través de consulta individual y a través de talleres Excursión en Bilbao y otras ciudades de España y Europa.

Riti is an Outreach Facilitator for The Monroe Institute, who works in the school settings as a School Psychologist. She is fully consecrated to a path of conscious exploration with the goal of enhancing her conscious awareness of the magnificence of her total Self.

Working as a School Psychologist allows Riti to practice seeing that perfect Self, in every student she assists. As a TMI Outreach Facilitator Riti has the opportunity to share with others the magnificent tools Robert Monroe developed to help individuals explore their consciousness and realize how much more than a physical body we all are.

Riti had her first out of body experience at age nineteen. In that first experience, she saw her body lying in bed, and felt terrified thinking she was dead. She unsuccessfully tried to re-enter her body. Desperate, she asked for help, and help came through the memory of passages she had read in a book, “The Third Eye,” in which a Tibetan monk described his Astral projections. As Riti realized she was having an out of body experience, immediately was back in her physical body.

After that experience, fear of the unknown prevented Riti from further exploring the out of body state. But in 1997 she read “The Ultimate Journey,” by Robert Monroe, in which he relates his out of body experiences, and her fear of having an OBE, dissipated. She immediately contacted The Monroe Institute and requested a catalog of products. She bought the “Gateway Experience,” an audio program using Hemi-sync sound frequencies, and started her conscious exploration using tools presented in the tapes.

While listening to the Gateway Experience hemi-sync tapes, Riti was able to program her mind to lose weight, and it worked!!! She was motivated from inside out and guided toward reaching her weight goal. She lost thirty pounds, six years ago, and never regained them.

In 2001 Riti took the Gateway Voyage, the pre-requisite for all other programs offered at TMI. Because she had been listening to Gateway Experience tapes for three years, she had little expectations of having better experiences at TMI. But she had marvelous experiences. Participating in the Gateway Voyage at TMI with other people enhanced her experiences to the point that she reached a more profound state of ‘body asleep-mind alert’ that the one she had attained at home. She also had great experiences in altered state of consciousness.

Taking TMI programs enhanced Riti’s creativity. She received in a dream the complete argument for a novel, including the title: An Island Out of Time. The novel is currently in the process of being edited, and Riti hopes it will soon be published.

Pamela Boyer, M.A. Outreach Facilitator and President of Dolphin Cove Retreats is a business owner, Mars Venus Coach, and trainer with 30 years of experience. After years of exploring the nonphysical realms on my own, I finally attended the Gateway Voyage at the Monroe Institute in the fall of 2001. It felt like coming home. Since them I have been back 10 times.

Jean McDoniels is a certified Outreach Facilitator for The Monroe Institute and a Local TMI Chapter Facilitator in Ocala, Florida where she hosts monthly meetings for TMI graduates.  She will travel to other locations for those wishing to schedule an Excursion Workshop in their local area.

Additionally, Jean is a certified Quantum Touch Practitioner, Reiki Master and also uses the EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) healing modality.  She co-founded Ocala Inner Center (O.I.C.) with TMI graduate Basil Bristow as a venue for others who seek a location where workshops and other metaphysical studies can be conducted.

Honora Finkelstein and Susan Smily are accredited Hemi-Sync Workshop facilitators and offer a variety of programs. Throughout my adult life I’ve been an avid reader of topics related to our spiritual, physical, and non-physical reality.  In 1995, while book shopping, one in particular seemed to captivate my attention.  It was titled, “Journeys Out of the Body”, by Robert A. Monroe (a leading figure throughout the 40’s and 50’s radio broadcasting industry.)  I was quickly enthralled by the nature of Bob’s personal experiences, his credibility, and his deep commitment to maintaining a scientific standard of integrity as he endeavored to understand this spontaneous non-ordinary state of being.  As I turned to the final pages, I desperately longed for more.  Hoping the adventure might continue past the end, I began to leaf through the book again and found my eyes fixated on the last page of the foreword, my mouth hung open.  There at the bottom of the page in a note to those who may be interested was the address of The Monroe Institute, a residential campus with programs designed to allow others to explore the vast expanse of their own consciousness in Bob’s pioneering footsteps!  Almost before I knew it, I found myself attending my first program.  This firsthand experience was a huge revelation.  Finally, there was validation of an internal spiritual landscape free from the boundaries and limitations conceived by society, guided by internal knowing and direct firsthand experience.  For me this was the catalyst to real awakening, empowerment, answers to life-long questions, the release of self-limiting behaviors and fears, and the beginning of true freedom.

It’s quite an honor to represent the Monroe Institute as an Outreach Facilitator.  It’s the fulfillment of a long held desire to be of service to humanity through the continued growth of this internationally acclaimed leader in consciousness exploration.

Carmen graduated from the University of Puerto Rico with a BA in History of Art. She also studied Home Design, Kinesiology (level I), Photo Reading and Adyurvedic Massage and is a Hado Instructor, Brain Gym and TMI Outreach Facilitator. Carmen has offered conferences in Iceland, Boston Latino Institute, TMI, Cuba and Puerto Rico about Hemi Sync and its uses.

As a Member of the Professional Division of TMI, with nine university students, she generated a research project on the use of Hemi Sync to enhance learning. With Jacqueline Mast, she organized the International Conference on Special Education in Puerto Rico. For the past six year Carmen has created a Childrens' Summer Theater Workshop using Metamusic. She has also developed a program called "Wiring" or ALAMBRAjE, combining Hemi Sync, Brain Gym Exercises, breathing techniques, positive affirmations and the arts to increase the learning skills and wellness of children. This system is going to be incorporated in some schools in Puerto Rico in 2009.

Carmen has participated as a speaker in many activities related to Autism and AD(H)D, presenting Hemi Sync and Brain Gym as useful tools to help children and adults in Special Education Programs. Sunny days, swimming/scuba diving, reading (non-fiction), mountains, open-minded    people and spiritual pursuits are some of the things I especially enjoy.

In 1993, my husband Daniel experienced a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Always on the look-out for something that could benefit in his healing I was curious when a colleague introduced me to The Monroe Institute (TMI). The year was 2001. While reading everything TMI related that I could get my hands on I ran across an article about a lady who experienced a TBI and benefited from the patented technology called Hemi-Sync®. I ordered this title and my husband began to use it.

The more I read about the technology the more intrigued I became. I decided it would be beneficial for my husband to attend the Gateway Voyage® program offered by TMI. That is how we ended up in Spain in 2005. I thought it would be a really nice vacation in sunny Spain and perhaps Daniel could get some physical benefit from the course. I quickly realized that there was much more to the technology and I was hooked. It is hard to put into words exactly what kind of healing Daniel experienced. I feel that he did more healing in that one week than he had done in the previous 2 years. We are grateful for that great vacation in Spain.

We now make an effort to get back to TMI annually. I wanted to continue what we started in Spain and I became an Accredited Outreach Facilitator in 2008. Currently, I enjoy bringing the Hemi-Sync® experience through Excursion Workshops. I now serve the TMI community as Regional Coordinator for the Southwest and Midwest Regions.

Barbara Kauffman is well known throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico as a prominent board certified regression therapist, educator, lecturer, and researcher.

Her extensive training and experience in the exploration of the subconscious mind has earned Barbara the reputation as a leader in the field of emotional healing. Becky Carroll, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist in private practice with over 20 years of experience as a psychotherapist and many more years than that of training and facilitation experience.  As a therapist with a general practice, she specializes in trauma resolution, transpersonal and spiritual emergence issues and mindfulness practices to help clients be able to live more fully in their bodies and lives.  While personally enjoying many “expanded” or out-of-body (OBE) experiences to other physical and non-physical places, as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (www.traumahealing.com), Becky is also very interested in facilitating journeys into one’s body.  In her psychotherapy practice she has also trained in methods such as EMDR, energy psychology (the “tapping” therapies), hypnosis, Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy and has taught therapists the use of light-assisted entrainment therapy, using brainwave entrainment and different frequencies (seen as colors) of light.  With her focused blend of traditional and cutting edge methods, Becky was recognized as one of “Washington’s 2009 Top Mental Health Professionals” in the Washingtonian magazine.

In a few of her many “past lives” within this one, Becky was a sailing instructor and camp director, a U.S. Senate staffer, a graphic artist, and a musician.   She spent 11 years singing with Brock & the Rockets, a jazz/doo-wop a cappella group that appeared in venues such as The Kennedy Center, The National Theater, and The Birchmere in the Washington, DC area, the Diane Rehm Show on National Public Radio, as well as finalists in the Harmony Sweepstakes.  It was a great ride and let her play in some pretty high focused states of consciousness, a cappella binaural beats and multiple frequencies.

Once Becky attended Gateway in 2002, she was hooked on Hemi-Sync and has since completed many other TMI programs.  She has been a member of The Monroe Institute Professional Division since 2002 and immediately incorporated Hemi-Sync into her work with her clients. When the Facilitator Training Program was reinstated in 2009, Becky jumped at the chance to become an Accredited Outreach Facilitator, gleefully spending her entire summer reading and writing papers for her matriculation into “Hogwarts.”  She can been seen expressing her enthusiasm for TMI’s Outreach program here.

Some of Becky’s great passions include the exploration of consciousness, playing with sound frequencies and brainwave entrainment and learning through direct experience.   Hemi-Sync and TMI programs incorporate all of these elements, gently but powerfully supporting listeners into specific states of consciousness that facilitate their own explorations and experiences.

Beatriz Cymberknopf unites her life-long work and interests in the study of consciousness expansion, spirituality and health with her professional skills. Ms. Cymberknopf brings over 20 years of experience developing health promotion and disease prevention programs serving as project’s operations manager, educator, trainer and consultant. Her professional career has included positions in the non- profit, profit and governmental health care research service organizations addressing quality of life issues affecting hospitals, community clinics and long-term facilities in New York, Washington DC metropolitan area, and other cities across the nation, including South Florida. Ms. Cymberknopf pioneered the first Medical Interpreter and Cross-Cultural Competence Program of its kind at D.C. General Hospital serving the Hispanic communities residing in the D.C. Metropolitan area.

As a Monroe Outreach Facilitator, Beatriz plans to continue her health service career addressing critical issues affecting chronic care and aging services in the United States and expand into Latin America, this time through the establishment of Pathways to Heaven; an organization dedicated to offering practical and powerful meditation and stress reduction tools for improving one’s quality of life. Pathways to Heaven was created to complement and support the medical community by incorporating and providing needed innovative and holistic health-oriented programs to local communities through proven meditative practices, assisted and enhanced by the Monroe Institute’s patented Audio-Guidance Technology internationally known as Hemi-Sync. Her work focuses on the psycho-spiritual perspective helping people reconcile the cares of daily life with the strivings of their soul by uncovering the hidden link between occupational work and one's spiritual work.

Beatriz believes that the time has come to let go of what does not support one’s well-being and a time for opening up to what does support one’s entire being-to what is true and real. Beatriz invites you to go into the depths of your inner-self, uncover and reclaim the inner riches. Anna White Ferraraccio, MA, LMT, has been an Accredited Outreach Facilitator for The Monroe Institute since 2000. She holds advanced degrees in Psychology and Education; graduated from the Edgar Cayce School of Massage (ARE -Association for Research and Enlightenment - Virginia Beach, VA) in 1998; and from the Advanced Training (Teacher Training) at the Barbara Brennan School of Healing in 2007. She has also studied with many Native American shamans and healers; is an aromatherapist and herbalist and brings all of her love, compassion and wisdom into her healing and teaching.

Anna uses TMI technology on a daily basis and combines Hemi Sync frequencies with counseling in her work as a Distance Energy Healer. Anna specializes in working with young children who have behavioral, emotional or neurological problems (such as ADHD, Autism, Asperger's, etc.) and adults who have chronic pain.

I feel honoured and I take pride in being a member of The Monroe Institute and in belonging to the excellent and dedicated group of TMI’s residential trainers. Coming from Germany and being the only residential trainer in the German speaking area of Europe I am deeply committed to spreading the work of Bob Monroe all over this area.

It is a fascinating assignment for me to communicate the methods and didactics of the Hemi-Sync process with fidelity to Bob Monroe’s ideas and to provide people with the opportunity to get new insights about who and what they are as well as enabling them to get new insights into their current earth lifetime and how to create a fulfilled life from now on into the future.

Having been in a constant learning process and a teaching and training position for over 40 years it is my aim to guide people on their adventurous way of self development, self experience, of consciousness expansion, and to enhance their knowledge and awareness of the fact that they are indefinitely more than their physical body.

Vincent Baettig was born in Switzerland on November 10, 1958. He is a professional musician, composer and sound engineer. He is professionally involved in acupressure and acupuncture medicine since 1993. Practicing yoga and martial arts since the age of 16, he is today a Hatha Yoga, Kundalini Yoga and Kriya Yoga teacher since 1999. Specializing in breathing techniques, yoga of sound, the Monroe Hemi Sync technology was for him the revelation that simple and smooth sound techniques could be also totally efficient as the good old eastern hard ways, and should be both practiced today.

Since 2001, Vincent is offering with the full support of The Monroe Institute, Hemi-Sync graduated seminars in France and Switzerland

Linda, a Canadian and a naturalized Cypriot, has been an Outreach Facilitator since 2000, and a member of the Professional Division since 1997. She offers Hemi-Sync workshops from her base in the Eastern Mediterranean island of Cyprus. She has attended ten residential programs at The Monroe Institute in Virginia and is currently a Residential Facilitator in Europe.

Both a lecturer and a writer, her articles have appeared in magazines and publications in Cyprus and the USA. She contributed an article, “Hemi-Sync in Cyprus”, for the book “Focusing the Whole Brain”, edited by Ronald Russell, published 2004 by Hampton Roads. Arkaitz Eskarmendi was born in San Sebastian, Spain. Since childhood he felt that something was missing in life and started his quest for the `missing factor´at a very early age. Along the years he tried many tools and techniques for self development, trying to unveil the depths of human consciousness. While working on his masters degree on International Trade and Logistics, Arkaitz was given the opportunity to read Bob Monroe’s books. Reading of Bobs experiences, along with a first contact with the Hemi-Sync technology provided an unmistakable sense of `this is the way to go´. And this is the way he went until, before he knew he became a TMI Outreach Facilitator and Residential Trainer. Now he facilitates both Excursion and Gateway programs.

Using Hemi-Sync on a regular basis, personally and with workshop participants, has brought a sense of purpose and fulfillment to life that is hard to describe. Life has turned into an incredible adventure, full of meaning and mystery.

Arkaitz also had training in Coaching, NLP and DHP (development of the human potential).

Andrea Berger grew up in Bucharest, Romania, and has traveled throughout India studying yoga and meditating on inner light and sound. She now lives in Cincinnati, Ohio, with her husband and their two children. Andrea works as an information technology manager for a large consumer goods company and is an accredited TMI Residential and Outreach Facilitator, a certified VortexHealing® Energy Healer, a Reiki Master, and an enthusiastic Yoga practitioner. In her “spare” time, she is a graduate student in Transpersonal Studies at Atlantic University founded by Edgar Cayce in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Andrea is also the founder and president of the non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization Association for Consciousness Evolution, Inc. with the mission to accelerate the evolution of consciousness through education, practical exploration and personal transformation. Peter Russell is a fellow of the Institute of Noetic Sciences, of The World Business Academy and of The Findhorn Foundation, and an Honorary Member of The Club of Budapest.

At Cambridge University (UK), he studied mathematics and theoretical physics. Then, as he became increasingly fascinated by the mysteries of the human mind he changed to experimental psychology. Pursuing this interest, he traveled to India to study meditation and eastern philosophy, and on his return took up the first research post ever offered in Britain on the psychology of meditation.

He also has a post-graduate degree in computer science, and conducted there some of the early work on 3-dimensional displays, presaging by some twenty years the advent of virtual reality.

In the mid-seventies Peter Russell joined forces with Tony Buzan and helped teach “Mind Maps” and learning methods to a variety of international organizations and educational institutions.

Scott Taylor, Ed.D. leads a double life. During the day he is a mentor and educator to small business owners; helping increase their management skills. He is an accomplished business leader and former CEO skilled in a broad range of leadership and business issues. At night he transforms into a near-death experience researcher and speaker. Having interviewed hundreds of near-death experiencers he speaks to the heartfelt needs and desires of experiencers and those close to them. In 1992 shortly before my Mother died, my stepfather, Robert Monroe, asked me if I wanted to be a trainer. He had wanted me to become a stand up comedienne so I guess he thought my humor could be put to good use at TMI.

That was eighteen years ago. I can remember when Gateways were on the road at hotel conference rooms, retreat centers where my sister, Scooter McMoneagle, Karen Malik, David Mulvey and Darlene Miller trained programs. I remember when the idea of building a permanent place came up one evening after dinner at the farm. Mom wanted him home at his own establishment where all the equipment could be in place and all the people responding to Journeys Out of the Body could come and spend a week.

In my eighteen years of training at TMI, I have had the opportunity to grow and learn and experience the initiatory process of what Hemi-Sync® groups coming together to spend a week of consciousness exploration can do for the uplift of humanity. Here I get to witness and support people as they uncover more of who they really are in a wonderfully supportive atmosphere of fun, deep work and safe space. At the beginning of the week it is as if we as facilitators have been presented with a bouquet of two dozen rosebuds and we get to be a part of the blossoming of each one of those buds as the week progresses. How cool is that?

In 1986, I had a full blown in-the-body experience. I learned from that that the body is vital in consciousness exploration. Paul Elder has spent a lifetime studying human nature from a unique perspective. Patty Ray Avalon is a Residential and Outreach Facilitator for the Monroe Institute and has been serving TMI since 1998.

Ms. Avalon has a B.F.A and an M.F.A from Indiana University. She has studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Central School of Art and Design in London. She is also a graduate of the Barbara Brennan School of Healing in Miami Florida, and served there on the faculty as well as on the faculty of Hollins College, in Virginia.

She is experienced in the Michael Harner Shamanic practices, as well as the Pathwork bioenergetic modality.

She is a member of the Monroe Institute’s Professional Division, The Institute of Noetic Sciences and ISSSEEM.

Ms. Avalon is also a professional artist and has shown her work in the World Bank in Washington, D.C., the U.S. Botanical Garden, The Mellon Foundation, and has had her faux finishing used in the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.

She has had her artwork featured in the Metropolitan Home, Country Living, House and Garden, and other popular magazines.

Author of many Japanese books about his interesting experiences in the afterlife realms and beyond by using the Hemi-Sync technology. Mas is the president of the Aquavision Academy Born in Yokosuka, Japan in 1954. After graduating from the University of Tokyo, he worked for Sony for 10 years and SDL in San Jose, California for 13 years as a semiconductor laser engineer. I was born and raised in South Africa and came to the United States in 1997, working as an Occupational Therapist in KY and TX. After reading a book where The Monroe Institute was listed in the reference section, I wanted to know more and attended the Gateway Voyage in January 2000.

I returned to SA with the hope of continuing my education through TMI in order to share HemiSync in my home country. I completed TMI’s Facilitator Training Program and facilitated excursion workshops in the Johannesburg/Pretoria region.

I returned to the US in 2002 and settled in Chicago-land when I married Bob and became a residential trainer for TMI in 2008. The wisdom and sophistication of the Gateway Voyage continue to inspire and delight me. It is humbling to be trusted with this transformative journey of the Gateway participants and their group. To witness their awakening to freedom and self-mastery ignites a spirit of compassion and commitment in me to continue on my own journey as a student of consciousness and share this wisdom with my students, patients and community.

I work as a Lymphedema Therapist, am on the faculty of “Prairie Yoga Teacher Training” and teach yoga and meditation at 3 locations in our area. I am a quilter, a knitter of socks and spinner of yarn. Bob and I share the love of scuba, traveling and our dogs, Maluti (Rottweiler) and Xander (Great Dane.)

Within each of us, there exists a totally unique potential for personal growth and fulfillment. He is also certified in Page Multidimensional Cellular Healing, Rebirthing/Holotrothic Breath and is a Reiki Master. He has been studying and exploring the metaphysical field for over thirty years. Kevin has been living in Asia for over 20 years studying with shamans, lamas, and yogis in a number of spiritual traditions. John Kortum has been a Residential Trainer at The Monroe Institute since 1998, but his interests vary widely in the field of consciousness. Whether leading the Gateway Voyage, working one-on-one with clients, guiding paranormal expeditions around the globe or developing new medical assessment procedures, he’s always on the go. His unique form of medical perception has been clinically proven and health care providers seek his assistance whenever conventional diagnostic methods fail. John is an autodidact. There was no earth-shattering event that brought significant understanding, no ancestral lineage to promote his self-discovery. He postponed mainstream educational pursuits in search of answers and understanding his way, through experience and empirical investigation. Karen Malik has been a facilitator of Monroe Institute programs and it’s exploration of consciousness for more than 35 years. She met Bob Monroe in 1977 when assisting at the first 10 day workshop which was given at Feathered Pipe Ranch in Montana. She became Director of the Western Division of the Institute and developed it’s presence on the west coast and also around the country as the National Coordinator of outreach programs. She, along with Chris Lenz,were the initial trainers when the Penn Center opened in Virginia in July of 1979. Through the years, she has been instrumental in the ongoing development of the Institutes programs and, along with Peter Russell, has created Exploration Essence, a program which focuses on the deepening of ones spiritual journey and the integration of personality. Currently she is Senior Residential Facilitator.

She has a Master’s in Clinical Psychology and is licensed in the state of California as a marriage and family therapist. She is also extensively trained in the complementary healing arts. Her work in the consciousness field extends nationally and internationally. Currently, she is on the board and is past president of the International Society for the Study of Subtle Energies and Energy Medicine (ISSSEEM) and also on the board and current president of the Cross-Cultural Studies Program (CCSP). In private practice she specializes using a transpersonal approach when working with clients.

Dr. Joe Gallenberger is a clinical psychologist who has over 30 years experience as a therapist. He has a great interest in the universal principles of manifestation. In 1995 Dr Gallenberger began exploring psychokinesis, the ability to influence matter through non-physical means. After achieving powerful results at a university laboratory and enhancing his methods over 5 years of study, he began to teach this skill to groups. Franceen has been a life-long consciousness explorer, and a TMI Residential and Outreach Trainer since 1986. She began her career as a Management Intern at the National Institutes of Health, and eventually worked with many government agencies through her own consulting firm in the Washington, D.C. area, which focused on Organization Development, and Executive and Management Development. Since moving to Florida in 1980, she has maintained a healing practice with individuals and couples as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and has conducted numerous personal growth workshops through her business, The Self-Awareness Institute. She has a Masters Degree in Community Mental Health Counseling, and a Ph.D. in Clinical Sexology. She is also an ordained minister. Franceen has studied a wide variety of healing and consciousness-expanding teachings and is committed to empowering participants to know better their Total Self and fulfill their highest purpose and aspirations.

Charleene Nicely, Ph.D., LCAS is the Director of Mental Health and Outpatient Services for Pavillon, providing trauma counseling, assessments, medical and clinical consultations. She also leads psychologically oriented groups and lectures on such topics as the interaction of psychiatric diagnoses and addictions; the interplay of the biological, psychological, social and spiritual factors in addictions and recovery; and improved self-communication. She uses hemi-sync technology in her current position to help patients learn to relax, to increase their connection to their Higher Power, to improve their concentration, and to enter restful sleep.

She received her B.A. in general psychology from Baylor University in 1974 and her PhD in clinical psychology from University of Memphis in 1980 and completed her graduate internship training with the VA medical centers in Memphis, Tn and in Pittsburg, Pa. She has lived and worked in the Hendersonville, NC area since 1979 In her 22 years of private practice, she has worked with families and individuals on such issues as depression, anxiety, marital issues, childhood behavioral problems, parenting skills , and strengthening recovery. In her private practice she also provided psychological evaluations including intelligence testing, personality evaluations, and neuropsychological evaluations Led meditation groups in Hendersonville, in local seminars, and at The Monroe Institute in Faber, Virginia where she has been a residential trainer for week-long seminars since 1993.

Byron Metcalf is a drummer, percussionist, recording artist, and record producer. With over 40 years as a professional musician, he has performed on gold and platinum albums in the pop and country fields and in recent years has been experimenting with the use of drums, percussion, and other sounds to induce nonordinary (altered) states of consciousness in both ceremonial and therapeutic contexts. Byron’s 1998 CD release HELPERS, GUIDES & ALLIES continues to receive enthusiastic reviews in the shamanic, trance dance, and therapeutic communities, and was rated #4 in Backroads Music’s 1998 Best of Year Selections in the World Music category. Byron collaborated with award winning recording artist and sonic innovator Steve Roach on the critically acclaimed 2-disc epic THE SERPENT’S LAIR (Projekt Records, Sept. 2000). Byron is a also transpersonal guide and educator, shamanic practitioner, researcher, and teacher. He holds a Ph.D. in transpersonal psychology, a master’s degree in counseling psychology, and is a certified graduate of Grof Transpersonal Training and Eupsychia Institute’s Psycho-Spiritual Integration programs. Bob Holbrook has been a student of consciousness for most of his life. He is an anthropologist with experience in South America, Africa, the Middle East and the US. Bob has studied Anthropology and Psychology at Ball State University, Indiana University and the University of Chicago. He studied Archaeology with the University of Michigan. Bob is an active member of the Society for the Anthropology of Consciousness, The Institute of Noetic Sciences and a certified provider with the Institute of Heartmath. He is presently working with individuals in the areas of addiction and post traumatic stress disorder.
