Robert A. Monroe, founder of Hemi-Sync, is internationally known for his work with audio sound patterns that can have dramatic effects on states of consciousness. Monroe observed, during his early research, that certain sounds create a Frequency Following Response in the electrical activity of the brain.
Those observations led to some remarkable findings dealing with the very nature of human consciousness. Researchers learned specific sounds could be blended and sequenced to gently lead the brain to various states ranging from deep relaxation or sleep to expanded states of awareness and other "extraordinary" states. This compelling research became the foundation of a noninvasive and easy-to-use audio-guidance technology known as Hemi-Sync®.
The audio-guidance process works through the generation of complex, multilayered audio signals, which act together to create a resonance that is reflected in unique brain wave forms characteristic of specific states of consciousness. The result is a focused, whole-brain state known as hemispheric synchronization, or Hemi-Sync®, where the left and right hemispheres are working together in a state of coherence. Different Hemi-Sync® signals are used to facilitate deep relaxation, focused attention or other desired states. As an analogy, lasers produce focused, coherent light. Hemi-Sync® produces a focused, coherent mind, which is an optimal condition for improving human performance.
One of the leading researchers into brain wave synchrony, Dr. Lester Fehmi, of the Princeton Biofeedback Research Institute, points out that "Synchrony represents the maximum efficiency of information transport through the whole brain." This means that brain wave synchrony produces a sharp increase in the effects of various brain wave states. The production of synchronized, coherent electromagnetic energy by the human brain at a given frequency leads to a 'laser-like' condition increasing the amplitude and strength of the brain waves. It's evident that a "highly integrated brain," a brain, in which both hemispheres are functioning in symmetry, synchrony, harmony and unity, is a key to peak states and peak human performance.
Specific combinations of Hemi-Sync® signals, for example, can help individuals achieve laser-like focus and concentration. Depending on the intended goals, music, verbal guidance or subtle sound effects are combined with Hemi-Sync® to strengthen its effectiveness. Naturally, Hemi-Sync® sleep products incorporate predominately Delta frequencies; learning products predominantly Beta, and so forth. Users remain in total control as these recordings do not contain subliminal messages. Hemispheric synchronization does occur naturally in daily life, but typically only for random, brief periods of time. I used the Hemi-Sync for a week. Seems there was a scratch I was not aware. Played for 4 hrs. I did not know it was to play only for 2 hrs. Heard snapping sounds going from one side of my brain to the other. I then had a dream, vision, or whatever of my skull with no skin. I thought was encouragement. Later, I saw my own eye looking at my own skull again -and heard if I continued on this path I would never be the same again. I wonder if anyone can give me any information on this issue?

The web site above is concerned with Solfeggio tuning forks which apparently address the same concepts as Hemi-Sync. I wondered if you knew of this modality. David Hulse, D. D. (with Tim Leach) is the progenitor of this system which utilizes the Solfeggio Scale (the six lost electro-magnetic frequencies) to awaken our inner potential. There are several forms of tuning forks; the Biosonic Brain Tuners for example have a Fundamental tuner used with four others (Theta, Delta, Alpha, and Beta) which works in the same way the Hemi-Sync describes - the twin sounds enter opposite ears and create a third sound/frequency in the brain which serves to syncronize the four states of consciousness. I am sure David (or Tim) can expain it better. I thought if I could encourage you to communicate with them, all our higher purposes would be served. I do intend to attend the Excursion Workshop (facilitated by Jean McDoniels) in Ocala and will also be speaking with her about the connection between these two audio systems. I USED HEMI-SYNC WHILE I WAS STATIONED IN GERMNAY IN 05-08 BUT NOW THAT I HAVE BECOME SENSITIVE TO ELECTRICITY I CAN NO LONGER USE HEADPHONE. DO YOU THINK HE WILL MAKE SOMETHING FOR PEOPLE LIKE ME? BEATS THAT DO NOT REQUIRE HEADPHONES? THE DOCTORS THAT I HAVE SEEN IN THE PAST FEW YEARS ARE UNABLE TO TELL ME WHY OR HOW THIS HAS HAPPENED. THEY SEEM TO THINK IT'S ALL IN MY HEAD OR I'M CRAZY. Hi Charlene, you will still get a beat frequency generated in the room, it just won't be doing it with the internally generated binaural beats. Using the speakers will certainly be better than nothing, and you should still reap the benefits of hemispheric synchronization. this is very interesting. I listened to a Solfeggio by Schuman I think, and without any expectations, I felt as if I got lighter. My head got heavier, and my body lighter until my mind absored into the body. It did not feel like a 'melt' but as if my whole self turned towards some magnetic feel around me, as if the energy was in the air. People dont have to believe me, my point is that the frequences really touch a chord in me.
Is it necessary to be lying down to get the best results from Hemi-Sync CDs? Or do some (presumably the ones that improve sleep!) work better if the listener lying down? I ask because I do not have a CD player by my bedside, so I'm wondering if I can just sit in my armchair wearing headphones as if I were listening to music. Thanks.

I've been using hemi-sync on and off for a few months and I must say a lot more has happened than I ever thought was possible... I'm not much of a believer in religion but this stuff has some sort of power to it... I hope i can get good enough at this to actually be able to do some sort of remote viewing at some point. Any tips for a newbie?
