About the Journal

The Monroe Institute Journal (originally Breakthrough) has been published by The Monroe Institute since the mid-1980s. Along with The Focus, it was created to preserve and disseminate the rich legacy of material that had begun accumulating. As the work of Bob Monroe and the Institute penetrated larger populations, making its unique consciousness exploration and development tools available to a growing community of users, reporting on the results of those uses streamed in. The Journal contains research and anecdotal reporting, contributed mainly by TMI’s Professional Members, on applications with patients, clients, and students, while more personal, experiential accounts are shared via The Focus.

Paper copies of past issues of The Journal and The Focus are available in full text, on request.
Selected copies of past issues of The Journal and The Focus are downloadable as .pdf files.
