The 2004 Professional Seminar Overview

Winter/Spring 2004

From March 6-10, 2004, fifty-five professional members and special guests convened for The Monroe Institute®’s Nineteenth Professional Seminar, “Hemi-Sync® and the Intuitive Connection.”

The keynote speaker, Jeffrey Mishlove, PhD, delivered an outstanding address drawing on his extensive personal experience in the field of parapsychological research. After developing the myriad ways of connecting with intuitive knowledge and guidance, Dr. Mishlove illuminated how quantum mechanical and mathematical models undergird metaphysical concepts.

F. Holmes “Skip” Atwater, TMI research director, described an ongoing study of how focused consciousness during the GATEWAY VOYAGE® may affect random number generators (RNGs) placed at three locations on the Institute grounds. Skip presented encouraging preliminary data and gave a brief overview of the REMOTE VIEWING (RV) PRACTICUM, pointing out possible overlaps between RV and RNG effects.

Maureen Caudill shared fascinating stories of impacting physical reality-including surgical results, blood pressure, and the California wildfires-by focusing intention with Hemi-Sync®.

Brian Dailey’s overview of the energy body and chakra system was the foundation for a wide-ranging discussion on using Hemi-Sync®, crystals, aromatherapy, and hands-on healing to support optimum health.

Once again, Suzanne Evans Morris enthralled the audience by opening a window on her dedicated and effective work with children with feeding aversion. Gripping videos demonstrated noticeable improvement with therapy accompanied by Hemi-Sync® in contrast to therapy alone.

Eva Lange has been caring for her elderly parents and in 2002 assisted her father in his death transition. Dr. Lange shared how the deepening relationship with her mother, who is moving toward the same transition, has opened her eyes to the patterns we inherit from our family/tribe and what we must do to “cleanse the genetic line” and become whole.

Scott Taylor began with a moving description of being included in a loved one’s journey to the light. Inspired by that experience, Scott was guided to explore Hemi-Sync® as a resource for himself and chose to research the near-death experience (NDE) for his doctoral dissertation. He shared compelling interviews with NDE experiencers and considered the transformative effect of those events on their lives, such as a perception of unity and no fear of death, changes similar to shifts triggered by Hemi-Sync®

Suzanne Morris chaired a well-attended meeting on reorganizing the professional division Listserv, and editor Ronald Russell described the creation of Focusing the Whole Brain, which he shepherded to publication just in time for the Seminar. Participants also viewed video presentations by Dean Radin, PhD, on scientific evidence for the interconnectedness of consciousness and by Steven Greer, MD, on the huge mass of evidence for extraterrestrial intelligence.

Morning yoga and opportunities to schedule bodywork sessions were part of the Seminar amenities. Some participants walked or (if really energetic) jogged down to Lake Miranon. “Enhancing Intuition,” the tape day intensive, was facilitated by Laurie Monroe and Darlene Miller and built on the seminar theme. On Tuesday evening everyone gathered at Roberts Mountain Retreat to converse, enjoy good food, and relax to the background of virtuoso Greg Carroll’s swinging piano.
