The Monroe Institute is a membership organization. Being a member of the Institute implies intimate knowledge, overt endorsement, and active support of the vision and mission of the Institute. Membership means that you serve the best interests of the public and uphold our nonprofit charter, Articles of Incorporation, and Bylaws. If you are considering membership, review our corporate and nonprofit documentation and make an informed decision.
By joining The Monroe Institute, you become part of a global community of like-minded people who are intent on self-discovery and personal transformation. Your valued membership will help the Institute sustain Robert Monroe’s legacy of providing something of value to our contemporary culture and further his inspired vision to change constructively humankind’s direction and destiny.
This something of value about which we speak involves recognition of the added benefits to life that an experiential education brings. Membership Levels
Sustaining Membership
As a Sustaining Member (your annual gift of $50), you will receive:

- Exclusive member publications:
- The Focus — stay abreast of Institute activities with the TMI Focus in each semi-annual publication available as a PDF document on the Institute’s website. This publication has information articles and updates on programs, Hemi-Sync® research and new product releases.
- The Journal — This semi-annual publication, available as a PDF document on the Institute’s website, provides reporting from professional members. The Journal provides first-hand accounts of recent research in the field of consciousness expansion and evolution as well as innovations and applications using Hemi-Sync in a broad range of professional arenas — education, psychotherapy, the arts, and organizational development, to name a few.

Professional Membership Qualifications:
Individuals wishing to apply for the Professional Membership should download and complete the application, which is subject to acceptance by The Monroe Institute. For complete information and application please read The Professional Membership page.
As a Professional Member (your annual gift of $100), you will receive:
- The benefits listed above.
- The privilege of utilizing audio and other materials available or coordinated through the Institute for the purpose stated in your membership application.
- Reports on the research and other activities of the Institute including but not limited to the area of your particular discipline.
- The opportunity to present their research at the Professional Seminar.
- A 15% discount on all educational materials offered in the TMI Store. This discount may not be combined with any other discounts or special offers and is not applicable to digital media from vendors not affiliated with the Institute.

Various TMI membership levels are not considered “Members” as the term is used in the Virginia statue and, therefore, do not constitute corporate-governance “Membership” as defined by Virginia state law (Va. Code Section 13.1-837).
