One of our recent posts, “Researcher Sees Digital-Music ‘Drug’ as Study Aid,” featured an interview with researcher-educator and long-time supporter of The Monroe Institute, Barbara Bullard. The article seemed to imply a relationship between Bullard and the recent spotlight on a “digital drug” phenomenon — an implication that provoked a thorough and thoughtful response from Bullard in a dialogue with J.S. Epperson.
From the HigherMusic.com blog by J.S. Epperson, Bullard writes,
I spoke to Jasti Simmons of the Chronicle of Higher Education for about half an hour last week for her article Researcher Sees Digital-Music ‘Drug’ as Study Aid. When she mentioned digital drugs and iDosing, I prepared myself for the inevitable hatchet job, but I set aside my assumptions with the hope that I would be heard: vain, I know, but then I’m an optimist.
