Peeling Back the Layers

August 17, 2011

But actually, I wanted to call the title of this post serendipity because I first came across this quote:

It's toughest to forgive ourselves. So it's probably best to start with other people. It's almost like peeling an onion. Layer by layer, forgiving others, you really do get to the point where you can forgive yourself. Patty Duke

And was thinking about how powerful forgiveness can be and then I came across this video, which has to be the most beautiful onion cutting video I've ever seen:

Taverna San Marco - How to Dice an Onion from Jensen Hande Studios on Vimeo.

And it so perfectly evokes the metaphor of peeling back the layers and/or knowing that there are a lot of ways to 'process' something and still wind up with what you wanted in the end.

So, with that in mind, today we're asking to think about forgiveness of self and others, and the peace that this incredibly generous act can bring. Are you game?
