In his book, 'Far Journeys', Bob Monroe introduced the concept of Escape Velocity – not in reference to his out-of-body experiences, but as a way of explaining how we can break away from the seemingly never ending Earth-life cycle. In his view, this was to be done by collecting 'energy' from the original creative source during our lifetimes. He sometimes referred to the lack of escape velocity, and the subsequent Earth-life entrapment belief system, as being 'terra-fied'.
In Bob's last book, 'Ultimate Journey', his nonphysical EXCOM or Executive Committee brought up the idea of Escape Velocity once again. Bob was told that as one attains this velocity, so to speak, one achieves freedom . . . not just for eternity but infinity . . . an interesting choice of words from EXCOM's point of view.

I love the brand-new look and feel of the Web-Site! The deep purple hues produced a calm and relaxing healing effect in me immediately. The animation reminds me of an exercise on a TMI member tape that guided the listener to the center of a black hole to meditate, and gather new information. I am sure that Bob would love the new format too!

Alas... even with a high speed internet connection I am for some reason getting a very choppy effect on this video... stop and go for both audio and video. I would LOVE to see a downloadable version of this so that it could be viewed and enjoyed the way it was meant to be seen.

Mr. Monroe's books got me interested in the out of body state. I practiced for years (around 4-5 years). It took 3 years before I had success. I've seen some pretty amazing things since. I always have wanted to go and see the TMI property (physically) to pay respect to Mr. Monroe.
Here's hoping perhaps within the next year or two I can do that. It's great to see that TMI is still going very strong. Kind Regards,

What he calls "escape velocity" is exactly what I've been seeking for a long time. Running with "this system of things" is definitely not the way to achieve escape velocity. Those of us seemingly cursed with hard lives have this experience (the 'stick' as opposed to the 'carrot') in order to prevent our slipping up in the hereafter and wanting to return.
Mr Monroe was mentioned reverently by Sri Paul Twitchel in his writings describing Soul travel and the religion of Light and Sound,which is Eckankar.It got me to look up his book in the library,here,and it was fascinating.Paul pointed out that Mr Monroe was an early way-shower of techniques to shift to other near and far dimensions and I have since explored those regions as a matter of course for 40 years.All that the Monroe school is about is real and there for the people who wish to advance to a higher level of understanding of the nature of life,itself, and to really stop the wheel of re-incarnation holding us in perpetual flux.
