Penny Harrison-Latham

Director, Development & Partnerships

As TMI’s Director of Development & Partnerships, Penny oversees fundraising and long-range development planning for the Institute. Born in Washington, DC, Penny attended The American University, University of Massachusetts (Amherst), The Fund Raising School (now AFP), and the Society for Nonprofits. A nonprofit leader and association executive for more than 25 years, Penny formed and launched 6 national nonprofit organizations. As the founding president of a national education nonprofit  and consultant to a number of other groups, Penny has raised more than $50 million in her career and managed a $2 million government grant for 12 years.

She is the winner of numerous writing awards, including a Florida Emmy Award for an AIDS public service announcement that aired in the U.S. and Mexico. A successful event planner, she also served as executive producer and director of 12 Spanish-language television specials which consistently received the highest network ratings of any other annual special. Personally, Penny has been a student of religion and spirituality since her youth, “devouring everything I could to learn more about higher consciousness."  Coming across Hemi-Sync® in the 1990s, Penny started using the exercises every day and believes that they have helped her maintain focus and a high state of creativity. She serves on a number of nonprofit boards in Virginia, New York, and Florida. Penny’s goal at TMI is to build the capacity of the Institute to meet the growing needs of those seeking a more expanded awareness.
