Dr. Sergey Sorin became interested in wellness and healing, in addition to practicing traditional medicine at an early age. In 2006, he founded a Physician Weight Loss and Wellness center, as well as serving as a Medical Director for a Surgical Weight Loss Practice.
His life took a new direction and focus after he was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2007. He started to apply knowledge he had learned about the mind, body and spirit to overcome this challenge in his own life. In the process, he founded the Power Principle, a Mind-Body-Spirit alignment, and has written 2 published books on this topic. In his search for deeper meaning and purpose in life, he came across another physician, Dr. Brian Dailey, who is a long time veteran of The Monroe Institute® (TMI) as well as a true healer in many ways, including being a Reiki (energy healing techniques) Master-Teacher. Dr. Sorin became interested in, and also became a Reiki Master-Teacher, as well as taking a plunge into the world of TMI. He completed multiple programs, including the Gateway Voyage®, Lifeline and Guidelines®. He also became a member of the Dolphin Energy Club and a Professional Division Member of TMI.
In order to help others realize the benefits of the Consciousness Awareness, Self Realization and Manifestation, and to help bring the message of TMI “YOU ARE MORE THAN YOUR PHYSICAL BODY”, Dr. Sergey Sorin also become an Outreach Trainer with TMI.
In his traditional medical career, Dr. Sergey Sorin is an American trained physician and is Board Certified in Family Medicine. At CUNY Brooklyn College he majored in Chemistry and was the recipient of the Kalberman award for excellence in Chemistry, and a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society. He also obtained an advanced certificate in Health Care Management from SUNY Health Science Center at Stony Brook University, after his Doctor of Medicine at SUNY Health Sciences Center at Brooklyn School of Medicine.
Dr. Sorin is working in Emergency Medicine, but has experience and practiced in the fields of Family Medicine, Urgent Care Medicine, Occupational Medicine, and others. He is fluent in English, Russian and is conversational in Spanish.
Dr. Sorin is especially interested in education and teaching. He has been involved in the training of physicians in the academic setting. In addition he has been an instructor through the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), to both health care providers as well as the community.
He has served as Medical Director in Emergency Medicine and Inpatient Medicine at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Bath, NY, as well as administrative duties with Delphi Healthcare.
Dr. Sergey Sorin has long been interested in traveling and experiencing various cultures around the world. Some of his professional experiences included a medical mission to Honduras, traveling assignments in the Virgin Islands, as well as serving people in Kotzebue, Alaska, and nearby native villages, north of the Arctic. He recently returned from Peru where he studied Shamanic Medicine.
Dr. Sorin is collaborating with Dr. Brian Dailey in conducting Outreach programs and methods of healing, in the United States, as well as around the globe.
