Scott Taylor

residential Trainer

Scott Taylor, EdD, became president and executive director of the Monroe Institute in 2019. His vision for Monroe is its expanded global distinction as the world’s go-to organization for exploring human consciousness. Scott attended Gateway Voyage® in 1983, became an outreach trainer in 1985 and moved to residential training in 1998.

A known researcher and speaker in the field of near-death studies, Scott had a shared NDE in 1981. He has been committed to exploring and raising awareness of NDEs ever since. In fact, he wrote his doctoral dissertation on how near-death experiencers live in unity.

Scott is the voice and author of six best-selling Into the Light audio albums that explore the intersection of Hemi-Sync® technology and NDEs.

An experienced business leader and entrepreneur, Scott was CEO of Brett’s Department Stores, founder of the Expanded Awareness Institute, and marketing VP of  Phenix Biocomposites startup. As a business mentor for the State of Minnesota, Scott spent 20 years mentoring thousands of small business owners and nonprofit organizations.

He earned a BA from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and an MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Business at Northwestern University in Chicago. He later earned a minister of spiritual counseling degree from the New Seminary in New York and a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, where he studied people who had had near-death experiences.

Personally, Scott is passionate about the sport of curling. He is married to the love of his life, Anne Hunter.
