As a teenager, I was a student and later an instructor of Hatha Yoga in the Great Universal Fraternity, GFU, and later I began to practice Zen meditation under the direction of the Mtro. Ejo Takata in the early seventies.

Simultaneously to my academic studies in Experimental Psychology, at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, UNAM, I received formal Zen training for several years in two monasteries: Tassajara Zen Mountain Center in Big Sur California and Crestone Zen Mountain Center, in Crestone Colorado, USA. I have the degree of Zen teacher, granted by the master Zentatsu Richard Baker Roshi.

I am currently a professor of Psychology at UNAM, an institution that awarded me the PhD degree in Experimental General Psychology. The research that I have carried out for several years on human behavior, has generated me some academic recognitions such as: National Prize for Scientific Research, Aida Weiss Prize for Cancer Research, as well as the distinction of belonging to the National System of Researchers in Mexico , of which I am currently a level II researcher.

Upon discovering Robert Monroe's books and after participating in several seminars at the Monroe Institute in Virginia, USA, I found in the hemi-sync methodology and in the procedures used by the Institute, forms of exploration of consciousness, which are very powerful and accessible to most people, and that do not require difficult, austere, or long training. The breadth of the range of experiences, as well as the scientific component of these explorations attracted me immediately and I joined the project to disseminate the exploration of consciousness through this methodology.

I offer introductory talks on the Hemi-sync method and on educational products to broaden the awareness distributed by the Monroe Institute and, together with other colleagues, I wish to introduce the Hemi-sync residential programs in Mexico.
