Inviting Abundance Starts with Gratitude
Reflecting on old experiences with fresh eyes is always an exciting and validating experience. Looking through some of my journals from past Monroe Institute programs, I came upon “The world would be such a better place if we all came from a perspective of gratitude as we live out our daily lives.” I believe I wrote this when I took Gateway Voyage, and I’m proud of my past self for being able to access and understand those deep feelings of gratitude despite being new to the world of Monroe. The deeper I dive into my meditation practice, the more I realize how essential it is to feel and understand gratitude in all forms. In my practice, it’s the foundation of a successful exercise, as I need to connect with gratitude to move forward. This morning, I found an exercise about inviting abundance in the Expand app and focused my meditation on this theme. It kept pointing back to gratitude, providing the helpful reminder that inviting abundance starts with an attitude of gratitude.
While abundance generally refers to a large quantity of something, its spiritual meaning leans more into the nonphysical aspects of life. Having abundance in your life regularly translates into having family, friends, support, successes, and a career—a fulfilling life of anything and everything you may need or wish for. Abundance is regularly tied to manifestation, as you can learn to manifest an abundance of what you’d like in life through your meditation practice. But as mentioned above, I found the secret to inviting abundance into your life and allowing what you want most to fulfill your life is to come from a mindset of gratitude. You may be thinking, “Okay, I get that. But how can I do it?”
The deeper I dive into my meditation practice, the more I realize how essential it is to feel and understand gratitude in all forms.
How to cultivate gratitude
I’ve found that a successful manifestation comes with feeling happy, excited, and ready to receive that which you are seeking. If your mindset tells your higher self that you already have these wonderful things or that you are ready to receive them, they are much more likely to come your way. So, as I begin each exercise, especially manifestation and abundance exercises, I reflect on everything in my life that brings me joy. I’ll see everything I’m grateful for in my mind and energize the happy feeling it brings me. I’ll build joy and gratitude by being excited about all the good in and around me, and I find this helps bring it in abundance going forward. You can’t be closed off from receiving the things you want, and having gratitude is a sure way to keep yourself open and receptive. As I’ve said time and time again, we create the world we live in. If our mindset constantly has us looking for the bad or experiencing the negative around us, we can easily create our own hell. Feeling appreciative of the good things and looking for the good with gratitude builds an abundance of gratitude, which opens us to receive an abundance of whatever our hearts desire.
