More Thoughts on a Collective Consciousness
The idea of a collective or global consciousness is something I’ve blogged about here before. It’s the idea that globally we are all connected on a fundamental level. Even modern science is beginning to study this concept. It makes sense to me. Do you believe that you have an intuition that allows you to gather information in a way you don’t fully understand? Perhaps understanding where this intuitive information is coming from can help us to better understand what this greater global consciousness really is or what it means. Even though the thought of consciousness can be subjective, we can at least recognize that we have our own individual consciousness. A global consciousness takes that a step further to suggest that the world has a consciousness of its own, made up of the existence and thoughts of all the smaller pieces working as a unit on the earth (us!) just as we, ourselves, are made up of individual molecules.
As I took Starlines earlier this year, this concept became even greater and more complex for me. If we are beginning to recognize that our planet, Earth, has a collective consciousness made up of all conscious beings found here, what about our solar system? Do all the mechanical and systematic processes of the universe, which seem to flow together like a dance, also link up together as a greater consciousness all its own? If we think that Earth has a collective consciousness, what will make the solar system different enough that it wouldn’t have its own? And this could even expand out to our galaxy. When you can shift your perspective out into a way to look at the galaxy, with all its working and moving and dancing parts, could it possibly have a collective consciousness all its own?

At this time, there are no definitive answers. I mean, we don’t even have any real theories right now on a global consciousness other than it becoming a hot topic in the metaphysical world. But it’s the shift I see in the future if we’re able to solidify this conversation more. If there’s a global consciousness, there may be a solar consciousness and then a galactic consciousness—an ever evolving, combining, and extremely expansive consciousness that connects any and all conscious beings far beyond anything we could even fathom.
But right now, here on our planet, there have a been a few tests done on the idea of a collective consciousness that conduct research through random generators. What’s interesting is that researchers have found a spike in these generators on days where major global events happen. But what’s even more interesting is that these spikes are much more substantial on days when people are required to work together. Perhaps, humans are too divided, too focused on their own singular thoughts and futures to work well together in a collective. Perhaps, if we were able to come together and work more as a team and see ourselves as similar, we could connect more deeply and meaningfully in global consciousness. This is something I’m just beginning to study, and about which I’m excited to continue learning more.
