Letty Alvarez is an Outreach Trainer with the Monroe Institute, where she facilitates Exploring Consciousness workshops in South Florida. As the founder of Miami Consciousness, she also leads biweekly Monroe Community Group meetings through the Expand App community. Her work creates welcoming spaces for people to explore consciousness, expand awareness and discover more about themselves through direct experience.
Letty’s journey with Monroe began with the Gateway Voyage residential program in October 2024. Attending on Bob Monroe’s birthday, Oct. 31, made the experience especially memorable. Gateway profoundly changed her understanding of herself and left her with a deep conviction that she is more than her physical body. In March 2025, she returned to Monroe for MC², where she further explored energy, awareness and the possibilities of human consciousness. These experiences inspired her to pursue a path as an Outreach Trainer so she could share this work with others.
Following Gateway, Letty expressed her interest in becoming an Outreach Trainer and received a recommendation from renowned Monroe residential trainer Arki Eskarmendi. Her path to completing the program included significant personal challenges, including the loss of her sister, her mother’s stroke and her own open-heart surgery. These experiences deepened her appreciation for life’s uncertainties and strengthened her commitment to personal discovery. She completed the Outreach Trainer program in October 2026, becoming Miami, Florida’s first Monroe Institute Outreach Trainer.
Through Monroe’s Exploring Consciousness program, Letty introduces participants to sound-based consciousness exploration using Hemi-Sync® audio technology. Her workshops include experiences with Focus 10, commonly described as “mind awake, body asleep,” and Focus 12, an expanded state of awareness. She creates a relaxed, supportive environment where participants can explore their own experiences without pressure, dogma or the need to adopt particular beliefs. She especially enjoys helping newcomers feel comfortable asking questions, sharing observations and discovering what consciousness exploration may mean in their own lives.
Before dedicating herself to consciousness exploration, Letty built a career as an entrepreneur and professional baker. As Chef Letty Alvarez, she founded LA Sweetz Cupcakes and appeared on television programs including Cupcake Wars, Next Great Baker, Cake Boss, The Martha Stewart Show and The Today Show. Her background in entrepreneurship, creativity and bringing people together continues to inform her approach to workshop facilitation and community building.
Letty has been married for 36 years and is the mother of five. She believes that curiosity and a willingness to explore can open doors to new perspectives at any stage of life. Through her work with Monroe, she hopes to help others experience the joy of discovery and recognize the possibilities that emerge when they become more aware of themselves.
