Robert Monroe has taught at Harvard and at Trinity College Dublin. He has a Ph.D. from Harvard, where he worked with Nobel Laureate Seamus Heaney, and an MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. He has worked with many leading writers including Pulitzer winner Robert Olen Butler. His projects include a movie script about the Irish poet and playwright William Butler Yeats, and his circle.
Robert has won awards for his poetry, fiction, music, and film. He is the nephew and namesake of Bob Monroe, founder of the Institute, whom he saw at work on his many projects. He participated in Bob’s research in the early lab at Whistlefield, as well as in the first Gateway given at the Nancy Penn Center, where he began to have out-of-body experiences. He has presented at the Professional Association and has appeared on Coast to Coast AM and other radio and television programs.
He is constantly curious about consciousness, exploring the field avidly, and is always eager to learn more. He enjoys talking with those who share this interest, seeking to expand our understanding of our vast possibilities. He also teaches yoga and meditation.
